Title: Exhaust Tip Install Post by: rick sample on February 21, 2010, 08:25:21 AM I got a set of 3.5" MagnaFlow Tips. These are the weld on kind. My car sits in the winter from Nov-May. Right now it's in the back garage, with no driveway and a foot of snow. So it'll probably be months before I can get it out.
My question is that I noticed Summit Sells Exhaust Clamps for the tips. Do you guys think that I could actually put clamps around these tips to hold them in place or not so I could do it myself? Just to weld two tips Rick, I can't imagine it would be more than 75.00

Just to weld two tips Rick, I can't imagine it would be more than 75.00 I'm taking the tips here in a few to see how tight they are. The pipes on my car are 2.5" and my new tips are 2.5". So it should be a very tight fit. I know it shouldn't be to much. I just don't want to wait another 3-4 months before I can get my car out lol. The suspense is getting to me lol. Title: Re: Exhaust Tip Install Post by: rick sample on February 21, 2010, 12:28:26 PM Well I had to take the tips back to Summit and I got the 2.25" inlet 3.5" outlet instead of the 2.50" inlet. They fit pretty snug. The 2.5" ones say "Weld On" and the 2.25" ones say "Clamp On". they are exactly the same other than that. So we picked up some hangers and a couple clamps. We'll probably tackle it in a few weeks. Foxbodyconnection.com is not affiliated or endorsed by the Ford Motor Company or any of its subsidiaries.
