Seat covers are held onto the seat with hog rings, and more than likely a few trim pieces.

When you take the old seat covers off as you roll the old cover back you will reveal the metal hog rings that hold the original cover to the foam via metal bars through out the seat.

I worked for a trim shop years ago and we used to just snip them from the metal rod with a set of snips.

When you put the new cover of you can silicone spray the foam to help slide the new cover on easier. What to do is pull the cover on and beat the wrinkles out with the palm of your hand, and then apply the new hog rings as you go with a set of hog ring pliers.

When you apply the new rings press down onto the metal bar firmly,to ensure a snug fit of the new cover.

Our Ford Mustang Seat Cover Kits come with new hog rings and pliers, and I'm pretty sure with directions too.

If you take your time, it's not to bad.

Hi Tony,
Good Advice on the seat cover install. Silicone spray is a huge help!
Another one is to let the seat covers warm in the sun before stretching them over the seat foam. Vinyl contracts when cold and can even rip if it is warmed up. A blow dryer can also help but people should be very careful with a heat gun, it can melt the upholstery really quick if held to close too long too hot.
Best To You!
